My family is currently facing a crisis. My youngest child entered your program after having been tested positive for marijuana and bouts with binge drinking. Through one counselor's guidance and commitment to helping my son, we have uncovered the root cause of this substance use: he was recently diagnosed as being bipolar. Because your counselor expertly guided me to help my son, it seems he has also helped my entire family because it has now been discovered that both of our daughters may be similarly afflicted.
While this is not the best news we could have received, it has been made palatable through the untiring efforts of your staff.
My son's counselor has been open with me and supportive, while guiding me on the best way to help my son. He has made me see how enabling I was and making me recognize that I can now truly help my son.
While he may not win any popularity contests with your adolescent clients, I feel that this counselor is a God-send to parents. He speaks the truth and will not minimize the situation. He made me face the cold hard reality which is what was mandatory to get my son the help he requires. Through this counselor's expertise, we realized that our son's problems were deeper than the symptoms of alcohol or pot use might otherwise indicate.
No one has a crystal ball to tell us what the future may bring. However, thanks to your counselor's intervention, I know that whatever the future may hold for our family, it is brighter because of his help. You are fortunate to have a counselor with the caliber of expertise he posses. He is a credit to your organization.
